Augeo FI launched its first ever internship program in the summer of 2019, lead by Director of Organizational Development, Anita Smith. But school is no longer in session for two of our interns. We are proud to announce that we have successfully hired not one, but two of the program’s participants: Jamie Trittin, as a full-time employee in the IT department, and Amy Johnson, as part time in the marketing department.

Smith is thrilled with the outcome of the first internship program of its kind at Augeo FI. “Having Jamie and Amy on board is great to see,” says Smith. “They’re the manifestation of the fruit of our vision to establish an internship program and a part of what our vision is for the program.”

A graduate from Lewis University, Trittin completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and an Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems with a Certification in Java Programming. During his internship, “I hoped to gain working knowledge, on-the-job experience and experience life within a corporate environment,” Trittin says. And he did just that. “In my internship I learned a great deal about security and the changing world of technology,” he says. “Technology is continuously changing and I had the pleasure of working with the operations, infrastructure and security teams to help support Augeo FI.” This gave him interdisciplinary knowledge in these aspects of IT. “It’s important to embrace change and solve problems,” he says. ” I have always been a problem solver and I enjoy working within a team to grow with the technology.”

Johnson played a key role assisting the marketing team. A graduate of Elmhurst College, Johnson received her Bachelor’s degree in Art Business. “I am extremely grateful for this opportunity,” she says. “I believe that this was the best environment for me to become efficient in my design and professional skills by learning from highly creative, hard-working and personable people whom I greatly respect.” Having never worked within a corporate environment, “I hoped to gain overall real-world experience,” she says. “I am extremely grateful to learn how to be successful within this new space.” Johnson was able to develop her skills and garner new ones and looks forward to bringing this newfound knowledge with her into the next chapter of her career.

With the first internship program a wild success, Augeo FI is looking forward to summer 2020 when Smith takes the lead on this charge again. “I’m excited to work with our managers to create more of a buzz in the community about what we’re doing at Augeo FI and how curious, collaborative and creative internship seekers could potentially join us in the summer of 2020,” says Smith. Her number one tip of advice for those interested in the program? “Don’t be shy!” she says. “Just call us!”
